TalkBLACK Atlanta has been Atlanta’s premier discussion group for African-American professionals since 2003. We meet once a month to discuss an array of topics from politics and pop culture to religion and relationships that we consider relevant to the greater African-American community.

We meet from 1-3 p.m. SHARP on the first Saturday of every month (except holidays) at African-American-owned venues throughout metro Atlanta. Our meetings are presided over by a moderator and panelists are invited to share their perspective, but interactive discussion is encouraged.

There is currently no cost associated with TalkBLACK membership; we only require that you financially support the African-American-owned venue where we host our meeting, by purchasing a beverage, meal, snack, or item. We also ask that you arrive early enough to make your purchase and get involved in the discussion from the beginning so as not to disrupt the panelists or others in attendance.

In addition to the meeting, we also host a social outing or civic activity every month in order to allow our members to get involved in the community and get to know each other outside of the more structured discussion times.

Our membership is co-ed, hails from a variety of backgrounds and has ranged in age from 21 to 60 plus. Anyone open to listening to and discussing issues from an informed African-American perspective is invited to join us.

We are a stand for the community because:

Our mission is to facilitate intellectual exchange and dialogue that prompts active and consistent community involvement and inspires personal change and growth.
