Operation Dignity

Operation Dignity has been providing emergency and transitional housing to homeless veterans and non-veterans since 1993. We are a full-fledged non-profit 501(c)(3) veteran run, service-enriched provider serving the homeless veterans and displaced populations of Alameda County. Our goal is to provide safe housing, nutritious meals, and a full array of services to help primarily homeless veterans and non-veterans so they can being their rehabilitation process. All of our housing offer clean and sober residences with on-site support for sobriety and other self-help groups.

Oakland Business Assistance Center

The BAC (Business Assistance Center) is a one-stop information and referral center for businesses in Oakland.  The physical center right next to City Hall at 270 Frank H Ogawa offers full time staff to help business owners navigate the City government and provide referrals to local organizations, county, and state agencies, and other resources to start, operate, and grow businesses in Oakland. 

Inner City Advisors

Inner City Advisors provides a model for growing businesses and building communities by offering strategic advice, practical entrepreneurial education and access to key networks, resources, and capital that launch businesses to success. Building on the initiative and research of Harvard Business School Professor, Michael E. Porter, ICA strives to develop competitive and sustainable companies that have long-term impact on inner city communities.

East Bay Score

East Bay Score has over 40 counselors with real world experience providing free counseling in accounting, business planning & structure, commercial leases, eCommerce, export/import, finance, manufacturing, marketing, operations, retail, strategic planning, and more. Our low cost workshops guide you to successfully plan and operate your business.

Black Economic Council

The Black Economic Council (BEC) is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to provide African Americans an economic platform that facilitates business formation, job creation, access to capital, affordable housing, financial literacy, and equal opportunity for employment in the workforce.

Urban Fire

Urban FIRE is the entrepreneurship training born from real life experiences of business owners and successful individuals from around the world. It is training on the science of success first begun at Carnegie Mellon University and out-of-the-box methods of effective business development.

It is not only about learning to start a successful small business, it is about learning how success is cultivated, nurtured and expanded. Successful entrepreneurship is simply a way of life as life was meant to be lived.

Healthy Communities Oakland

Healthy Communities, Inc., dba Healthy Oakland, is a faith-based, 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization Co-Founded by Pastor Raymond E. Lankford, MSW and Bishop E. C. Reems-Dickerson as a means to address and remedy escalating violence and health inequities present in the African-American communities in Oakland. Our theme “Reclaiming, Repairing, and Restoring Our Community” was introduced to Oakland and the Bay Area on September 8, 2001 with a march and rally which culminated at Verdese R. Carter Park in East Oakland with a “Non-Violence and Health Festival” that drew over 5,000 participants.

United Men of Allen Temple

The United Men of Allen Temple include men from Allen Temple and the surrounding community who come together in prayerful support of one another. They meet the fourth Saturday of every month and have a guest speaker or an open forum to discuss issues that affect them individually and collectively. The objective is to provide spiritual, intellectual, financial and health education to the men of Allen Temple through monthly prayer breakfasts and Annual Men's retreat. We seek to fully incorporate men of all ages into the Allen Temple United Men community, especially ages 18 through 35. We engage this age group of young men through existing United Men activities and newer ones such as mentorship and fellowships called The Gathering.

AIDS Project East Bay

AIDS Project of the East Bay (APEB) is a community based organization, dedicated to preventing the spread of HIV and supporting individuals infected with the virus through programs targeted at some of the most vulnerable and marginalized individuals in Alameda County. APEB ensures that individuals and communities beyond reach of other agencies receive professional services of the highest standard.
