Computer Programmer/Software Inventor - John Henry Thompson
John Henry Thompson taught himself several programming languages such as FORTRAN, PLI, COBOL and JCL while working in a New York research facility and later earned his Computer Science degree from MIT. With a minor in Visual Arts Mr. Thompson combined his skills to become chief scientist at Macromedia and went on to develop several products including Lingo programming: a scripting language that helps render visuals in computer programs.Today, Lingo is used with many programs that have interactive simulations with graphics, animation, sound and video to include flash and shockwave programs prevalent in today’s video games.
