Kelly Rowland rose to fame as a singer and dancer with the group Destiny’s Child. Although Beyonce has become the breakout star of Destiny’s Child, Kelly Rowland has emerged from the group as a superstar in her own right.
Kelly launched her post-Destiny’s Child solo career by teaming up with rapper Nelly in 2002, recording the vocals for the track “Dilemma” for his album Nellyville. The song ended up with a Grammy nomination for Record of the Year and earned Rowland an award in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category.
Ms. Rowland had her second number-one hit “When Love Takes Over” in 2009, for which she also won her second Grammy Award. To date, Kelly has sold over 4 million records worldwide. Beyonce may get all the headlines but Kelly Rowland takes a back seat to no one in the looks, talent or any other department.
"Never give up on your dream... because you never know what the Lord can bless you with." - Kelly Rowland
