Garcelle Beauvais has graced the small and big screen for over 20 years. Born in Haiti, Garcelle is probably best known for her role as Fancy Monroe in the hit sitcom The Jamie Foxx Show. Prior to The Jamie Foxx Show, Garcelle was a recurring character in the crime drama NYPD Blue. In her current TV role Garcelle plays the lawyer Hanna Linden in the new crime comedy/drama Franklin and Bash. Not limited to the small screen, Garcelle has appeared in over a dozen films throughout her career to include The Wild, Wild West with Will Smith and Coming to America with Eddie Murphy
One of the most beautiful black women, on screen or off, Garcelle started her career showcasing her beauty as a fashion model. At age seventeen she was signed by the prestigious Ford Models agency in New York and Irene Marie Models in Miami. Beauvais modeled print ads for Avon, Mary Kay and Clairol. She is also a fixture in mainstream magazines such as Essence and Ebony and has often been profiled in Men’s magazines such as Maxim and Playboy; often cited as one of the most beautiful women in the world.
Clearly Garcelle is beautiful and talented and the longevity of her career is a testament to both. If we are fortunate we will be able to enjoy the beauty and talent of Garcelle Beauvais for years to come.
