The new Nike shoe, the Air Yeezy 2 designed by Kanye West, is one of the most highly anticipated shoe releases in history.  People are literally kicking and screaming to get a pair of the shoes that go for $245 retail. 

Even with all the hype and limited supply one man clearly went off the deep end by paying $90,000 for a pair of the shoes on eBay.

WTF?!?

He may be the most gullible of the bunch, but he is not the only one willing to wildly overpay for a pair of shoes that look more like moon boots than anything a normal person would wear.  Many stories have circulated documenting people paying $1,000 to $10,000 to get a pair.  Even more disturbing is that there are already several news stories about people being held up at gunpoint for the pair they just bought.

One man paid 90k for these shoes.  Others are robbing people at gunpoint.

Whipping the masses into such a frenzy that people are willing to shoot to kill for an overpriced product is a dangerous game.  It is also exploitation at the fullest as the poorest people in America (inner city kids) are the ones that Nike is targeting with this shoe. 

It is just a matter of time before some innocent young kid is killed due to Nike and Kanye's irresponsible attempt at making money.  I pray that it is not your child.
